PAX East 2010: Friday Report
Because of aforementioned travel woes, my Friday experience at PAX East was a bit shorter than I would have liked. By the time I arrived at the Hynes Convention Center, all that was left were the many free play rooms themed after Retro, Arcade, and contemporary games of all stripes. And the lounging PAX congoers. Oh my, the lounging.
Magic carpets? A social program for the homeless? No! These are just tired convention goers resting up after a full day’s gaming. I was assured that these Sumo bean bags were not just some registration goodies I missed earlier. I’m not even sure how I’d get one on the plane back anyway…
That didn’t stop me from investigating the convention grounds in its lower-energy state.

When I was a teenager, we had a beanbag chair. It was huge, mushy, and we loved it. I think it was my favorite place to sleep, and my brother practically lived in it. Pure Nintendo Magazine
Beanbag chairs have been around since the early 60's and have stuck around for good reason. Nothing quite beats the comfort of sinking into a nice beanbag chair to play your favorite video game or to watch a movie. While there may be plenty of Beanbags out on the market, there is but one that towers above all others, and makes the foam beans within their stitching quiver with fear.
