For some students starting college or university, furnishing their new apartment involves a lot more than a quick trip to the local lumberyard to fashion desks out of plywood and shelf supports from bricks. Many students now place as much emphasis on their apartments as they do on their grade point average.
“In the last few years, people, including students, have been spending more money on the places where they live,” says Richard Paik, general manager of EQ3, a furniture store on Queen Street West.
