4 Mistakes That Could Totally Ruin Your Gaming Experience

Approximately 155 million Americans play video games on a regular basis. Playing video games can be a lot of fun but no matter how many times you play a certain game, if you continue to make certain mistakes, you will never get any better.

Here are some common mistakes that video gamers make that lead to lackluster performances, angry teammates, and a potentially ruined gaming experience:

  1. Playing in an uncomfortable area — If you plan on playing one or multiple games for an extended period of time, you need to make sure you’re comfortable. Playing on the floor or an old wooden chair can severely injure your back and ruin your gaming experience. Rather than playing on an uncomfortable chair, consider buying some bean bag chairs. There are gamer bean bag chairs specifically designed to increase comfort and improve overall gaming experience.

  2. Using a low quality headset — Playing on bean bag gaming chairs is important but you’ll need a better headset as well. Especially if you’re playing a game that requires some stealthy play on your part, if you can’t hear what’s going on around you, you will be at a significant disadvantage.

  3. Texting while playing — This is one of the most common mistakes that new gamers are making. If you’re trying to take gaming seriously, you need to put your phone down and play without any distractions. Even if you think you have enough time to put your controller down and check your phone for just a second, there is a chance you’ll be attacked or mess up the whole game.

  4. Playing for too long — Another common mistake that gamers make is simply playing for too long. It’s not healthy to stare at a TV screen for hours on end and your gaming performance will certainly decrease. After a few hours playing, make sure you take a break at least an hour or two.
