Sumo Lounge Omni
Our much awaited Sumo Lounge Omni beanbag chair finally arrived in the office yesterday. Since my back was already a bit sore from sitting in an office chair for 7 hours straight, I put it to use immediately. When I saw the Sumo Lounge Omni online, I expected it to be just like every other beanbag, only much bigger and better. It looked like a lot of fun, but I didn’t expect it to be very useful as a stand alone chair. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The Sumo Lounge Omni is just the right balance between the firm support of most chairs and the flexible softness of common beanbags. As you sit in it, the chair actually conforms to your body and melts around you. It will form to whatever position you are sitting in, and give you just the right support everywhere, distributing your weight evenly. This means you stay very comfortable, even if you have to sit in one position all day long. I think the Sumo Longe Omni is probably one of the most comfortable chairs I have ever used.
My only complaint is that the Sumo Lounge Omni is too short to use at my work desk. After an hour of sitting in this chair, I wanted to replace my usual office chair permanently, but I was about 2 feet too short to comfortably reach my desk. So I unplugged my laptop and relaxed in it until the battery ran out. As much as I would like to claim it for myself, I think I’ll pass the chair around to the rest of the office and see what they think about it.
