Put Your Butt On This! [Sumo Lounge Gamer Review]

 

 

Not long ago, I had the the chance to review unlikely gaming accessory the Selk’Bag, a wearable sleeping bag suit. Now I’ve had the chance to check out the Sumo Lounge Gamer, a giant beanbag chair. You might think these sound like random selections for a video game site, but we’re all about anything that improves the gaming experience, be it clothing or furniture.

And trust us, you’ll want to plop your booty down on this.

As you can see in the image above, the Sumo Gamer is relatively inexpensive considering how large it is. How large? Approximately 42″ by 42″ by 34″. If you’re like me, those measurements mean nothing, so think about it this way: it’s about as large as a short yet overstuffed lounge chair. Yes, it’s a legitimate piece of furniture.

And how comfortable is it? Very. Our brown microsuede Sumo Gamer feels like sitting on a giant marshmallow. It’s ridiculously soft and truly hard to get out of. Despite the name, I think I actually prefer the Sumo Gamer for watching movies, as I find myself inevitably sinking into a prone position whenever I sit in it. That may or may not be a problem for you. I don’t personally consider spine-melting comfort to be a problem.

 

 

If you’re looking for a slightly more firm beanbag, Sumo also has you covered: the smaller Sumo Lounge Omni (which we included in our holiday gift guide last year) is a bit stiffer and easier to sit upright on. And at $139 bucks, it’s a steal. Regardless of which Sumo Lounge bag you choose, we think you’ll find it to be very worthy of being called a real gaming accessory.
