Introduction
One thing I always enjoyed when I was growing up was the 2 beanbag chairs we had in the house. Beanbag-type chairs have sure changed since then and are now bigger, more comfortable, and look a hell of a lot nicer. A while ago we took a look at the Sumo Omni and Otto beanbag chairs, they were sure a step above my old beanbags. Today we will be looking at one of Sumo’s latest products, the SumoSac. Let’s check it out!
Details
An improved version of the beanbag chair, SumoSac is a more savvy, stylish & comfortable alternative. This product will never decompress & is truly the most comfortable chair in the world at 3ft. high & 6ft. wide covered in micro suede.
Made with 100% shredded furniture grade urethane foam. Covers zip-off for machine washing. Shipped compressed under vacuum to save on freight.
Available Colors: Pitch black, Khaki, Sky blue, Funky brown and Fiery red.
Packaging
The SumoSac came to us in a big black duffel bag. The bag is quite big and is pretty heavy; it was a pain to carry up 2 flights of stairs to my apartment! To open the bag up you can either cut down the side (be careful not to cut into what’s inside) or untie the top, which is tied very tight. When you start to get the bag open you will find a vacuum sealed bag inside.
The vacuum sealed bag is actually the SumoSac. It is vacuum sealed because it would be a pain to ship the SumoSac at full size and even a bigger pain trying to get it into your house at full size! You will also find the micro suede cover inside. There are no directions included, but they are on Sumo’s website.
Getting it Setup
As you can see the SumoSac really isn’t much when it comes. It is basically a brick of foam pieces that have been vacuum sealed together and need to be broken up. The instructions say to break up the pieces, I tried by hand, but that was not working out that great so I tried another method.
Once I had the pieces broken up pretty good the instructions say to wait at least 24 hours to let the foam expand, I decided to wait 2 days just to be sure. On the second day I thought to myself hopefully I can get the cover on, because this thing is HUGE! Once the foam has expanded break it up even more.
The cover unzips and easily fits around the SumoSac. Just unzip it and slide it around the SumoSac then zip it back up to close it. We received the Navy blue cover, but you can also get it in black, khaki, sky blue, brown, and red.
Usage
As I said the SumoSac is quite large, we received the Sultan. There are 2 versions that are smaller, the Gamer and Couple, and a larger size the Giganator. I set the Sumo up in my office, luckily it is large enough to fit such a large SumoSac. Once setup I was dying to try I so I just sat down and immediately I was comfortable. I was really surprising! The SumoSac is definitely the most comfortable bean bag-type chair that I have used.
I liked having it in my office because I gave me a comfortable place to sit down and work on my laptop. I also made a good place to take a nap, and believe me I did that quite a few times. It is extremely easy to fall asleep on the SumoSac!
Final Thoughts
When I was first asked to review the SumoSac I was a little unsure on how it would work out, but I’m glad that they asked to review it because I love it! It is so nice having a place to just sit down and relax. The SumoSac not only looks good it is very comfortable too, if anyone would ask me what type of bean bag chair to get I would tell them a SumoSac! There are 4 different sizes of SumoSac’s ranging from $199 – $399 so they have one for every situation. I also like that the micro suede cover can be taken off and put the washer. I washed the cover once so far and it did not shrink or get ruined in the washer, so you don’t have to worry about washing it often.
The SumoSac does everything it is supposed to do and there really is not a single thing wrong with it. If you are looking for a new bean bag chair for your house or office definitely get a SumoSac, you won’t be disappointed!
