Sumo Lounge Omni: yeah!

Best beanbag chair ever. The GF ordered one a week ago, and today I’m sitting in it. It’s a beanbag ‘chair’ so large I can lie down on it and not touch floor, or scrunch it up and use it as a desk chair a couple of feet high. At $129 it’s cheaper than a non-Craigslist couch, and it doubles as a daybed/loveseat/children’s plaything/throw pillow/sex furniture, as evidenced by the pictures on their homepage. (I do wish the fabric were a little more skin-friendly, but that’s true of anything you’re sitting on for three hours, so it’s not much of a complaint.)

Interestingly, because it’s not square (4.5’x5.5′), it makes for two very different chairs when rotated ninety degrees about its short (Z?) axis. Very excited, very tech. Of course getting out of it is murderous. But worth it.

We have progressed to the ‘When I have money I’m gonna buy more of these’ stage of bilateral talks on the subject of the Omni. I’ll need a few more days to know whether it’s sustainably comfortable, but right now I think this beanbag chair is a gift from the 23rd century. Someday we’ll all lounge this way.
